"For this assignment I traveled with my husband Bill to Georgetown (just outside of Washington D.C.) We had a wonderful time sightseeing and it was a fabulous opportunity to visit our nation's great art museums. What treasures we own in terms of painting and sculpture thru the ages.

This is the painting of the older sister of the little girl portrayed in illustration # 4. The two girls are the daughters of a prominent political family. In this case I strayed a bit from my usual style of a figure in a neutral background. Here I elaborated on the placement of the child on a decorative porch with trees and water in the scene beyond. The whole experience of sharing this setting with Bill will always be very special to me." A.B.
